Sakeena Itoo reviews patient care, other facilities at District Hospital Kulgam

KULGAM: In view of the inclement weather conditions, Minister for Health and Medical Education, Social Welfare and Education, Sakeena Itoo, conducted a surprise inspection of District Hospital Kulgam and took stock of the patient care and other healthcare services being provided to patients.

During the visit, the Minister inspected different wards of the hospital, including the Emergency section and other critical sections and took on spot appraisal of the facilities available for the public. Interacting with the hospital administration on the occasion, Minister Sakeena asked them to ensure buffer stock of of all essential medicines and other life saving drugs in view of inclement weather. She directed them to implement the duty roster in letter and spirit so that the doctors and other required staff remain available 24×7.

The Minister also directed them to maintain close coordination with all Sub-district hospitals, CHCs, PHCs, other health centres, and provide all support to them in case of any requirements in view of heavy snowfall. She emphasized on the need for ensuring quality healthcare services, patient-friendly facilities and timely medical attention for all.

While interacting with patients and attendants, Minister Sakeena enquired about the availability of medicines, diagnostic facilities and overall patient care. She highlighted that the Government is committed to strengthening the healthcare infrastructure across the length and breadth of Jammu and Kashmir, with special focus on rural and peripheral areas.

Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Aamir Ul Shafi Khan; Director Health Services Kashmir, Dr. Jehangir Bhakshi; CMO Kulgam, Medical Superintendent DH Kulgam, other senior officers of district administration and health department also accompanied the Minister during the visit.
