Srinagar: Amid fresh snowfall and sub-zero temperatures, hundreds of devotees thronged the Hazratbal Shrine to mark the observance of Friday following Shab-e-Mehraj.

Braving biting cold and snowfall, people gathered in large numbers to offer supplications and witness the display of the sacred relic after congregational prayers.

According to the details available with Kashmir News Observer (KNO) the devotees carrying umbrellas braved the chilly conditions to witness the holy relic.

Many devotees said the snowfall made the sighting of the holy relic feel even more sacred as flakes drifted gently around the shrine. “The snow and rain don’t dampen our faith,” said one worshipper, standing under an umbrella facing the shrine.

Others echoed similar sentiments, adding that this annual observance draws people from across the Valley each year, regardless of weather conditions.

Beautiful scenes from the shrine showed a multiple umbrellas and people dressed in warm garments, standing below the minaret, waiting patiently for a glimpse of the holy relic. (KNO)
