Srinagar, January 18: Apni Party General Secretary Rafi Ahmed Mir, on Sunday, expressed grave concern over the elected government’s failure to provide effective governance in Jammu and Kashmir, despite the massive mandate given by the people to the ruling NC.

He said the government has failed on every front, and the people are suffering due to misgovernance.

He made these remarks while addressing a day-long party convention at the Dak Bungalow in Anantnag.

The event witnessed the participation of a large number of party workers across the district.

Rafi Ahmed Mir also demanded the immediate holding of Urban Local Body (ULB) and Panchayat elections in Jammu and Kashmir.

Mir said that the people of the Union Territory should not be deprived of their right to grassroots-level democratic institutions and their right to choose their own representatives.

Speaking on the occasion, the party’s Additional General Secretary Hilal Ahmed Shah urged party workers to intensify their political and public outreach activities in their respective areas to remain closely connected with the masses.

Besides Rafi Ahmed Mir and Hilal Ahmed Shah, prominent party leaders who spoke or were present at the convention included the party’s District President Anantnag Mufti Mohammad Sarwar, Provincial Joint Secretary Sheikh Muzaffar, Constituency In-charge Shangus–Anantnag East Maharaj Krishan Yogi, Abdul Rasheed Aakura, and others.
