Srinagar: Police have solved two fatal hit-and-run cases in Sopore and arrested the accused persons involved in these fatal accidents.
The first case was registered at Police Station Tarzoo, about a hit-and-run incident at Seer Crossing, when an unknown vehicle struck a scooty rider, Nazir Ahmad, resulting in critical injuries to the latter. The injured person was shifted to SKIMS Srinagar for treatment, where he succumbed.
During the course of investigation, the police examined and analysed the CCTV footage from the vicinity of the incident, which led to the identification and arrest of the accused involved.
In another hit-and-run case registered at Police Station Sopore, a pedestrian Abdul Majeed Dar sustained grievous injuries after being struck by an unknown scooty rider at Hatlangoo Crossing. The injured was immediately shifted for medical treatment but later succumbed to his injuries.
Through technical analysis and field verification, police traced, identified and arrested the accused involved in the incident, police spokesperson informed.
