Satish Sharma inaugurates blood donation camp at Trikuta Group of Colleges

JAMMU: Minister for Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs, Information Technology, Transport, Youth Services & Sports and ARI & Trainings,  Satish Sharma, today inaugurated the 10th blood donation camp at Trikuta Group of Colleges, Jammu.

The camp was organised in memory of the institution’s Founder Chairman, Late Dr Roop Lal Sharma, on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

Satish Sharma commended the Trikuta Group and Shri Sain Charitable Trust for consistently upholding the spirit of social responsibility through meaningful initiatives. He emphasised that voluntary blood donation is a noble act that not only saves lives but also strengthens the culture of compassion and civic duty among the youth.

He stated that the government remains committed towards supporting such humanitarian endeavours and ensuring robust health infrastructure across Jammu & Kashmir.

The Minister appreciated the exemplary participation from students, faculty and staff. “The willingness of over 100 volunteers to come forward and donate blood reflects the positive mindset and commitment of our youth towards nation-building,” asserted the Minister.

The event began with a tribute to the late Dr Roop Lal Sharma, whose vision of education rooted in service to society continues to guide the institution. His contributions to educational development and social upliftment were fondly remembered by all present.

Chairperson of Shri Sain Charitable Trust, Suman Sharma, spoke about the importance of regular and voluntary blood donation for supporting the hospitals and critical-care patients. She thanked the Minister for his continued encouragement towards his community-focused initiatives.

The programme was attended by the Managing Directors of the Trust Ritesh Sharma, Ravish Sharma and CEOs of the Trust besides the Principals and senior faculty members of the colleges under the Trikuta Group.

The Minister reiterated that strong community participation can significantly complement the government efforts in strengthening healthcare systems.
