DSEK brings education to doorsteps in far-flung area of Uri

SRINAGAR: Director School Education Kashmir, Naseer Ahmad Wani, today led a mega enrolment drive in the far-flung Kamal Kote area of Uri sector, reaffirming the department’s commitment to ensuring last-mile access to quality education across the Kashmir division.

The department conducted doorstep enrolments, enabling children from remote hamlets to receive immediate admission. A special function was organised at Boys High School, Kamalkote, Zone Jhulla, where around 121 students were enrolled on the spot by DSEK. Students of the area also presented vibrant cultural performances reflecting their local traditions.

In his address, the Director expressed satisfaction over the overwhelming response from parents across the region. He urged all CEOs and ZEOs of the Kashmir Division to ensure the timely registration of new students on the DSEK portal.

He further stated that the first phase of the enrollment drive will conclude on the 29th of this month, after which the second phase will begin, ensuring continuous outreach across all zones.

During his visit to the Uri sector, the Director conducted a surprise inspection of the ongoing examination centre at Higher Secondary School Sultan Dhaki. He also visited GHS Kamalkote to review infrastructure needs, and later interacted with students and staff at KGBV Salamabad, assuring them full academic support.
