“Our prime objective is improving the lives of people and driving economic growth through cutting-edge innovation,” the LG said.

The LG asked the graduating students to explore new ground, follow unconventional paths, have courage to know the unknown to be an innovator and a pioneer.

“Where there is fearlessness, there is invention. Where there is courage, there is new scientific discovery,” he said.

The LG said that cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence and automation are still in relatively early stages and we are entering a new phase of acceleration which will drive the future growth and development.

“India is a global leader in key areas of innovation and we have succeeded in creating a dynamic technology ecosystem and will lead the deep-tech ventures of the world,” the LG said.

The LG also highlighted new opportunities for young engineers and science graduates.

He said that the demand for generative design and predictive maintenance professionals will increase in the future. Software engineering and development has registered a growth of more than 5 percent and considering the global demand, millions of professionals will be required every year. Due to climate change, the renewable energy and green technology sector has brought new opportunities. Defence technology, Aerospace, Biotechnology, automation, robotics and healthcare are other high growth areas for young professionals, he further added.

“Scientists and engineers across the world are competing with each other to discover new frontiers of technology and making efforts to invent better, faster and more efficient technology than before. You need to create your own space in this exploration and leave a positive impact.

“Around 89 percent of our startups are into technological innovation and through the Seven Pillars of AI Mission, India will bring a new revolution in agriculture, health sector, climate sector and governance. This will prove to be a golden period for all graduating students,” the LG said.

The LG also spoke on the rich contribution of Bhilai in the nation’s industrial development. He said the IIT Bhilai must carry forward the legacy and act as a powerful force to shape the technical education landscape.
