Multiple power shutdowns scheduled across Kashmir

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) and the Jammu and Kashmir Power Transmission Corporation Limited (JKPTCL) have issued a series of power shutdown schedules across various areas of Kashmir to facilitate preventive maintenance, realignment, stringing, and upgradation works.

As per the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, the following shutdowns will be observed:

On 09 & 12 August 2025, shutdown of 33KV Kanipora-Pinjoora line will affect power supply from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM to the areas fed by Receiving Stations at Arhama, Pinjoora & Chowdrigund, impacting Pinjoora, Pahnoo, Trenz, Imamasahab, Kiloora, Shirmal, Zawoora, Arhama, Vehil, Kachdora, Nowgam, Reshnagri & Bemnipora.

On 10 August 2025, to facilitate construction of additional accommodation at Police Station Imam Sahab Shopian, shutdown of 33 KV Lassipora-Landoora line will affect Receiving Stations at Landoora and Moman (STD-Bijbehara) from 08:00 AM to 01:00 PM, affecting Landoora, Mantirbugh, Chookra, Hermain, Hajipora, Frisal, Wachi, Moomin and adjoining areas.

On 11 August 2025, for the shifting of 11 KV Habbak F2 line, the 33 KV Habbak Hazratbal line will remain off from 07:00 AM to 01:00 PM, affecting Receiving Stations at Habbak and Hazratbal, and disrupting supply to Hazratbal, Umar Colony, Rangpora, BARC, Habbak, Kashmir University, Nigeen, Kanitar, NIT Srinagar, Hazratbal Shrine, and adjoining areas.

Also, on 11 August 2025, shutdown of 33 KV GIS Khanyar-Kathidarwaza line will be carried out from 07:00 AM to 01:00 PM for the shifting of an 11 KV line near Kathidarwaza main road. Receiving Station at Kathidarwaza will remain off, affecting Saida Kadal, Naidyar, Hassanabad, Mirbehri Dal, Central Jail, Psychiatric Hospital, Kathidarwaza and adjoining areas.

On 11 & 14 August 2025, stabilization and reconductoring works along with HVDS-related activity will lead to shutdown of the 33 KV Amargarh-Arampora line from 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM, affecting Receiving Stations at Arampora, Pazipora, Sher Colony, and Bugoo and disrupting supply to Arampora, Pazipora, Sher Colony, Bugoo and adjoining areas.

On 09 August 2025, shutdown of 33 KV Khumriyal-Sogam Tap line will take place from 10:00 AM to 01:00 PM, affecting Receiving Stations at Sogam, Kresen, and Diwer, with power supply disrupted in Sogam, Lassipora, Takipora, Gung, Macher, Varnow, Diwer and adjoining areas.

Meanwhile, the Chief Engineer, JKPTCL Kashmir, has announced a shutdown of 33KV Shalimar-Harwan line to carry out stringing of conductor between location Nos. 45 and 46 of the 220 KV D/C Alusteng-Mirbazar Transmission Line (ZAMTL Sec-II) at Harwan. As a result, Receiving Stations at Shalimar and Harwan will remain off and power supply to Tailbal, Arabal, Parry Chowk, SKUAST, Dara, Darbagh, Theed and adjoining areas will be affected on 09 August 2025 from 09:00 AM to 06:00 PM.

Consumers are requested to bear with the inconvenience and are advised to make necessary arrangements during the notified hours of power curtailment.
