PMAY-G Awaas+ Survey gets extension till June 18

SRINAGAR: The Union Ministry for Rural Development and Panchayati Raj has granted a further extension of 15 days for the Awaas+ 2024 survey under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G), extending the deadline from May 31 to June 18, 2025.

This marks the third extension by the Centre, with the original deadline of March 31, 2025, first extended to April 30, then to May 31 and now to June 18.

The move aims to ensure comprehensive coverage, especially in remote and snowbound regions where completing the survey has proven challenging.

The extension was granted in response to a formal request made by the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.

Accordingly, the Competent Authority in the Department of Rural Development has approved an additional 15 days, allowing the UT to complete the Awaas+ 2024 household survey and ensure identification of all eligible rural households within this extended period.

An official communiqué from the Ministry stated that the decision followed multiple requests from states and Union Territories for more time to complete the survey and identify all eligible households.

The extension is also aimed at improving the verification of self-reported cases, ensuring that no deserving beneficiary is excluded.

As of June 04, 2025, a total of 495,937 potential beneficiaries have been surveyed across Jammu and Kashmir, which included 72,826 through self-survey and 423,111 through assisted survey.
