Srinagar: Police in Shopian have solved a theft case by arresting the accused and recovering stolen property from his possession.
Acting on a complaint from Irshad Ahmad, a resident of Children Keegam, about theft of ₹40,000 in cash along with some jewellery at his house, police, during investigation, identified and apprehended the accused and recovered the stolen items.
The accused was identified as Nazir Ahmad Malik, son of Abdul Rashid Malik of Tharian Keller. He is a “notorious and habitual thief involved in several previous FIRs”, police said.
