House Committee on JJM holds 4th meet at Srinagar

SRINAGAR: The House Committee on Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) today held its fourth meeting at the Legislative Assembly Complex, Srinagar.

The meeting was chaired by Committee Chairman Justice (Retd.) Hasnain Masoodi and attended by members Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, Ali Mohammad Dar, Altaf Ahmad Wani, Aijaz Ahmad Jan, Ranbir Singh Pathania, Tanvir Sadiq, Javaid Riyaz (Bedar), Muzaffar Iqbal Khan, Rafiq Ahmad Naik and Arjun Singh Raju.

Additional Chief Secretary, Jal Shakti department, Shaleen Kabra; Mission Director JJM; Chief Engineer PHE Jammu/Kashmir and other senior officers of the department were present in the meeting.

Speaking during the meeting, the Chairman underscored that this Committee has been given an important assignment to look into alleged irregularities in the implementation of JJM, a flagship initiative aimed at providing adequate and safe drinking water to public.

The Chairman also called upon the members of the Committee to conduct field visits of districts in order to gather on-ground assessment of various works being executed under JJM.

The members of the Committee, during the meeting, also spoke on different aspects of the JJM.
