KPDCL announces power shutdown in several areas for maintenance works

SRINAGAR: The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has announced a scheduled power shutdown across multiple areas in the Kashmir Valley to facilitate branch cutting, stabilization, upgradation, and other essential maintenance works on various 33KV lines.

According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, KPDCL, in order to carry out the works of stabilization/ branch cutting and necessary maintenance of the 33 KV Watrihail line, shutdown of 33KV Waterhail line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Waterhail, Waterwani, Charangam and PHE filtration Plant shall remain off while power supply to Waterhail, Sholipora, Lobertal, Dadina, Prisabad, Samsaan, Parthan, Waterhail, PHE Substation, Charangam, Bane gund, Punchgund, Uttligam and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on 19, 21 & 24 May, 2025.

Similarly, to carry out Branch cutting and necessary maintenance works, the shutdown of 33KV Nowbugh Chadoora line shall be observed, due to which 33/11 kV Receiving Stations at Chadoora, Panzan, and Ranger shall remain off while power supply to Sogam, Rapora, Dawlatpora, Panzan, Lalgam, Chadoora, Chadoora Hospital, Wathoora, Budgam and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on May 19, 2025.

Also in this connection, the shutdown of the 33KV Nowbugh Charisharief line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Char-I, Char-II, Hafroo and Nagam shall remain off while power supply to Kakawring, Yousmarg, Charisharief, Rakhayee, ITI Charisharief, Shrine, Tilsera, Badipora, Nagam, Hayatpora, Buzgoo, Loolipora, Hafroo and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 05:00 PM on May 19, 2025

Further to facilitate Upgradation/stabilisation of 33 KV Alasteng Nagbal, the shutdown of 33 KV Alasteng Nagbal line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Alasteng, Nagbal, Gadoora, Tulbagh shall remain off while power supply to Shuhama, Bakura, Darend, Nagbal, Fatehpora, Gadoora, Tulbagh, Chunduna, Shairpathri, Pandach and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 19 & 21 May, 2025.

Also in this connection, the shutdown of 33KV Alasteng Zakura line shall be observed due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Gulabagh, Ahmad Nagar, Umarhair shall remain off while power supply to Pathan Colony, Gulabagh, Mir Mohalla, Umarhair, Nowbugh, Ahmad Nagar, 90 ft road, Khalmullah and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 04:00 PM on 19 May, 2025.

Moreover, to carry out shifting of 33 KV Handwara HOT line at Vadipora to facilitate road widening, the shutdown of 33KV Handwara Hot line shall be observed, due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Handwara, Chougul, Pohrupeth shall remain off while power supply to Handwara, Chogul, Pohrupeth and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM on 19 May 2025.

Likewise, to cut down trees which are in close proximity to said 33 KV line, the shutdown of 33KV Yaripora Behibagh Tap line shall be observed, due to which 33/11KV Receiving Stations at Behibagh shall remain off while power supply to Sempora, Alamgung, Daderkoot, Behibagh, Kadder, Harmain Shopian and adjoining areas will be affected from 10:00 AM to 03:00 PM on 19 May, 2025.
