Banihal: A 68-year-old woman was injured in an attack by a bear in the village of Chanjloo in the Banihal district of Ramban on Wednesday.
The victim was identified as Khatija Begum, wife of Ghulam Mohammad Zohda, resident of Chanjloo Banihal. The incident occurred at around 3 p.m. on Wednesday.
Reports said the woman was near her house in Nayak Pora Chanjloo when a black bear appeared and mauled her before fleeing the scene.
Locals rescued her and shifted her to SDH Banihal, from where doctors referred her to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for further treatment.
