Man held for theft in Baramulla

Srinagar: Police in Baramulla solved a theft case by arresting an accused person and recovered stolen property from his possession.

A police spokesman informed that on April 29, Police Station Uri received a written complaint from one Altaf Ahmad Lone, son of Ghulam Nabi Lone of Uri, about the theft of his scooty (JK05N-5492) from the roadside near his residence.

A case was registered, and during investigation, CCTV footage from the vicinity and surrounding areas was collected and analysed, following which police zeroed in on one Gulzar Ahmad Parray, son of Habibullah Parray, resident of Balkote.

During sustained questioning, the accused confessed his involvement, following which he was arrested. On his disclosure, the stolen scooty was recovered from his possession. Further investigation of the case is going on, police said.
