ACS Education condoles grieves loss of students in Handwara road accident

SRINAGAR: Additional Chief Secretary (ACS), Education, Shantmanu, and Director Colleges, Dr. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir along-with whole Higher Education Department, have expressed heartfelt condolences on the tragic loss of lives of Aasia Rashid and Mymoona, students of Government Degree College (GDC) Sogam in road accident today.

“We are deeply grieved by the news of the unfortunate accident that occurred in Handwara, resulting in the loss of these precious lives and injuries to other students,” the ACS said.

“We understand that words can offer little comfort during such a devastating time, but we wish to convey our sincere sympathies to the bereaved families, friends, and the entire college community of GDC Sogam. The loss of these young lives is immeasurable, and our thoughts and prayers are with you all,” he added.

Meanwhile, Director Colleges, Dr. Sheikh Ajaz Bashir, also visited the injured students at SMHS hospital to personally assess their condition and offer support. He said that the department is committed to ensuring that injured students receive the best possible medical care and support during their recovery.

He added that the department is deeply concerned about the well-being of all the affected students and prays for the speedy recovery of those who sustained injuries.
