Srinagar: Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested three “terrorist associates” in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district.
Sharing details, a police spokesperson said that during the investigation of case under section 13, 18 and 39 UAPA of Police Station Qaimoh, police along with Army (1RR, 1Para (SF)) and CRPF (18 BN), apprehended three “terrorist associates linked with proscribed terrorist outfit LeT/TRF”.
They have been identified as Ubaid Khursheed Khanday, son of Khursheed Ahmad Khanday; Maqsood Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Ramzan Bhat; and Umer Bashir, son of Bashir Ahmad Dar, all residents of Thokerpora Qaimoh, Kulgam.
The joint team also recovered arms and ammunition including two AK- series rifles, eight AK series magazines, 217 AK rounds, five hand-grenades and two magazine pouches, police said.
“The arrested terrorist associates were in close contact with active terrorists of proscribed terrorist outfit LeT/TRF and were planning to carry out major terrorist activities in Kulgam district,” police said.
