KU VC Prof Nilofer Khan calls on Minister for Higher Education

Srinagar: Vice Chancellor, University of Kashmir, Prof. Nilofer Khan today called on Minister for Higher Education, UT of J&K Sakina Masood and briefed the Minister about the overall functioning of the University and discussed various matters of academic and administrative importance.

The VC apprised the Minister about the various ongoing and upcoming academic activities, new courses introduced, research projects going on across the campuses, international collaborations, faculty development programs, progress registered under various disciplines and skill development initiatives taken by the University.

Prof Nilofer Khan also highlighted the various initiatives taken for the smooth implementation and execution of the NEP 2020 framework for the overall and holistic development of the higher education system, timely conduct of examinations and declaration of results and strict adherence to the academic calendar.

She emphasized the university’s efforts to align programmes and courses with the NEP’s objectives and the focus on a multidisciplinary approach.

The VC also informed the higher education minister about the upgradation of sports infrastructure, student welfare measures, cultural activities, and various amenities and facilities being created over time to meet the growing demands and needs of the students.

The Vice Chancellor also provided details about the development of the University’s satellite campuses.

The Minister appreciated the university’s efforts and assured the government of its continuous support for the institute’s smooth functioning.
