JKEDI, SMVDU ink MoU to strengthen entrepreneurial ecosystem

KATRA: Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI) and Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University (SMVDU) on Thursday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to strengthen the areas of entrepreneurship development and innovation-based activities.

The MoU was signed by Director JKEDI Rajinder Kumar Sharma and Registrar, SMVDU Ajay Kumar Sharma in the presence of Prof. (Dr.) Pragati Kumar, Vice-Chancellor of SMVDU. The MoU focuses on fostering collaboration between the two institutions in areas such as incubation, entrepreneurship, skill-based training, education, research and the promotion of an innovation-driven culture.

The partnership aims to create opportunities for students and aspiring entrepreneurs through initiatives like curriculum development, industrial training, internships, and research and skill development programs. The signing ceremony witnessed the presence of senior officials and dignitaries, including Deans and HoDs of different Schools/Sections of SMVDU, Neeraj Gupta, Finance Officer, SMVDU, Dr. Sanjay Mohan, CEO of SMVDU Technology Business Incubation Center (TBIC) and officers/officials of JKEDI and SMVDU TBIC Managing committee.

Following the signing ceremony, Director JKEDI, along with the Registrar of SMVDU, conducted a tour of the campus premises. The visit included an overview of the university’s infrastructure, research facilities, and incubation center, showcasing the potential areas for joint initiatives under the MoU.

The MoU is a part of JKEDI’s continuous approach towards developing an innovation-based startup ecosystem in the U.T of Jammu and Kashmir.
