Five persons hospitalized after suspected food poisoning in Anantnag

Anantnag, Nov 1: Five individuals from Srinagar on Friday evening were hospitalized after suspected food poisoning in Laripora Pahalgam area of south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Quoting an official, NVI reported that five persons staying at a lodge in Laripora, Pahalgam, fell seriously ill after suspected food poisoning and were admitted to the New Type Primary Health Centre (NTPHC) in Pahalgam.

He said that doctors later referred them to Government Medical College (GMC) Anantnag for further treatment owing to their deteriorating condition.

The affected persons have been identified as Arfat Ahmad, son of Mohammad Ramzan; Tawheed Ahmad, son of Bashir Ahmad; Inaam, son of Mohammad Shafi; Burhan, son of Bashir Ahmad; and Owais, son of Abdul Rashid — all residents of Srinagar.

“We are currently investigating the source of the food poisoning,” the official added. (NVI)
