Apni Party has emerged as a reliable political alternative in J&K: Ghulam Hassan Mir
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Tangmarg: Apni Party vice president and contesting candidate from Gulmarg assembly constituency, Ghulam Hassan Mir today said that two Indias exist within India – one is fair, one unfair.

In a chit chat with this newspaper, Mir said that the Chief Minister of Bihar, Nitish Kumar declared his state (Bihar) a dry state (alcohol free) and nobody questioned him as there are already some dry states in India including Gujarat.

“Nobody branded Nitish Kumar as a radical. But when in Jammu and Kashmir people resist opening of liquor shops near schools, religious places, places near to residential areas, they are branded as radicals,” Mir said, questioning, why these double standards.

He said, what is Kosher in rest of India, why it can’t be in J&K.

Taking his argument further, Mir said that in entire India, those who go against the law or rules are dealt within the ambit of law but their families are not punished for their crimes or whatever.

“Here in J&K, if some one ever had indulged in any anti-law activity, directly or indirectly, his/her entire family even the extended one is being victimised. They are not issued the passports. If they get a government job, no security clearance is given to them,” he said.

Unemployment is a bigger challenge here, Mir said, adding, but when you deny our educated youth passports, clearance certificates, how would they get jobs here or abroad.

“India is one and we can’t have separate sets of laws for Jammu and Kashmir and rest of India. How will this “two India notion” help integration?” Mir questioned.
