Kilo Force celebrates 25 years of gallant service

Srinagar: The Headquarters Counter Insurgency Force (Kilo) proudly celebrated its Silver Jubilee, marking 25 years of gallant and distinguished service. 

“Raised on 1st September 1999, the Force has been at the forefront of Counter Terrorism Operations, playing a critical role in securing vital communication lines, maintaining peace, enforcing law and order and fostering strong relationships with the local populace through meaningful engagement and guidance to youth in North Kashmir,” said PRO (Defence), Srinagar.

“The Silver Jubilee celebrations commenced with a wreath laying at Kilo Force War Memorial by Lt Gen Rajiv Ghai, GOC, Chinar Corps and Maj Gen Vivek Narang, GOC Kilo Force who paid homage to the Braveheart’s, who made supreme sacrifice in line of duty, followed by Special Sainik Sammelan and celebration with troops. While interacting with troops, GOC commended them for their exceptional valour, unwavering dedication and operational excellence, which has been the hallmark of Kilo Force in the past 25 years,” the PRO said.

“The Silver Jubilee marks another milestone in the glorious history of the Kilo Force and serves as a befitting occasion for reaffirming the commitment towards marching ahead with the same dedication, courage and resilience that is now synonymous with the Force,” he said.
