Srinagar: The Indian Army, in collaboration with the Jaipur-based NGO Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayata Samiti (BMVSS), organized an Artificial Limb Fitment and Assistance Camp for differently abled individuals from August 1-3, 2024, in Anantnag and on August 6, 2024, in Shopian.
This community-focused event was dedicated to providing differently abled locals with the opportunity to regain mobility and independence. The camp aimed to make a positive impact on the lives of those who have faced limb loss. A dedicated team of prosthetic and orthotic doctors, along with technicians, worked tirelessly throughout the camp, fitting artificial limbs and giving attendees a new lease on life.
The Artificial Limb Fitment Camp proved to be a beacon of hope for the differently abled population of South Kashmir. It also served as a platform to raise awareness about the challenges faced by individuals with limb loss and the importance of accessible healthcare services. The efforts made by BMVSS to reach out to the people of South Kashmir were universally praised, and locals appreciated the Indian Army’s support for such a benevolent and humane initiative.
