Srinagar: Two women were injured in a mysterious explosion at Check Keegam, Gujarpati area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, officials said Tuesday.
Quoting a police official, news agency KNC reported that two women, identified as Nahida Akhter, daughter of Farooq Ahmad Gojar, and Afrooza Begum, wife of Ghulam Hassan Gojar, residents of Chek Keegam, Gujarpati got injured in a mysterious explosion near an Army camp at Keegam forest area where they had gone to collect firewood.
“Both the injured were shifted to GMC Handwara, from where they were referred to JVC Srinagar for advanced treatment,” the official said, adding that investigations have been started to find out the actual cause of the explosion.
