2 drug peddlers held in Budgam

Srinagar: Police in Budgam have arrested two drug peddlers and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesman said Tuesday.

He said at a checkpoint at Kashka Mohalla Soibugh, two persons carrying nylon bags were arrested after 27.100 kgs of poppy straw were recovered from their possession. They have been identified as Mohammad Shafi Malik, son of Khazir Malik, and Zeba Bano, wife of Abdul Gani Mir, both residents of Kashka Mohalla Soibugh.

A case under relevant sections of law has been registered in Police Station Budgam for investigation.
