The workers’ convention at Kalaroos in the Kupwara constituency was organized by the party’s provincial president Nasir Aslam Wani, while senior party leader Choudhry Muhammad Ramzan, Party candidate for Anantnag PC Mian Altaf Ahmed, treasurer Shammi Oberoi, district president Kupwara Qaiser Jamsheed Lone were present on the occasion. Congress president Waqar Rasool and other leaders were also present.

Omar Abdullah in his speech said, “One thing has happened very well in the current parliamentary election. People have realised who are helping communal forces in Kashmir. They also come to know who is with the BJP and who are contesting elections with their help, and the people also know who are those who are spreading hatred against Muslims in the country and who are those who are defaming Muslims and spewing poison against Muslims”.

He said that the public has become well aware of who is trying to plant the lotus flower through the back door in Kashmir.

Omar Abdullah asked, “Do A, B, C and D teams want a similar system in Jammu and Kashmir, where they kick us while offering prayers? We were beaten while reciting Taraweeh, our girls were kept out of college, and school for wearing hijab, is it for this purpose that these people are trying to bring BJP into Kashmir?”

He said BJP’s ambitions is not right, “The lands that Sher Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah provided free of charge to the people here and destroyed the economic slavery here, today our same lands are in danger.”

For the establishment of democracy, the lion of Kashmir Sheikh Muhammad Abdullah offered many sacrifices, today that democracy is being torn apart. Today, a system has been imposed here in which the people are not heard anywhere, only royal decrees are issued and they are being obeyed, even if it is openly against the people.

He said that the people have the power to change this system, you can save your lands, you can save the future of your children, you can save those jobs, provided you can use your vote properly. Because the power that is in the pen of the government is much more power in the vote of the people.

Omar Abdullah appealed to the people to give their valuable vote in favor of the National Conference so that this party of Jammu and Kashmir can achieve all these things.
