Srinagar: A terrorist associate has been arrested along with arms and ammunition in Lalpora area of north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, police said on Thursday.
In a statement, a police spokesperson said that a joint naka was laid by police, together with the troops of 28 RR and CRPF 162Bn at Gundimacher Bridge.
During checking, one person — Rafeeq Ahmad Ganie, son of Ghulam Ahmad Ganie of Lalpora — coming towards Gundmacher was rounded up even as he tried to flee from the spot, the statement said.
A pistol, pistol magazine, 10 rounds, two hand-grenades and a mobile phone were recovered from the bag he was carrying police said, adding that a case FIR No. 03/2024, under section 7/25 A Act, 13,18, 23, 39 ULA (P) has been registered in Police Station Lalpora for further investigation.
