“General public is hereby informed that the camp sitting w.e.f 07.02.2024 to 09.02.2024 at Banquet Hall, Srinagar of National Human Rights Commission, New Delhi to hear the cases has been postponed for some unavoidable circumstances and due to bad weather conditions for the time being,” reads a notice issued by Director Litigation, Khursheed Ahmad Bhat.

The Commission was scheduled to hear cases of human rights violations which were filed in the State Human Rights Commission before it was abolished by J&K government due to constitutional and legal changes effected by the Union government in 2019.

On March 18, 2020, the Government of India empowered the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) to deal with all human rights concerns in the union territory of Jammu and Kashmir.
