Jammu: Three persons, including two siblings, were killed and five others seriously injured when a private car skidded off the road and plunged into a deep gorge in Reasi district of Jammu and Kashmir on Monday.

The accident took place near Ramakunda Morh in the mountainous Mahore area this evening, officials said.

They said the vehicle was on its way to Mahore from Gool and fell into a deep gorge after its driver lost control while negotiating a blind curve, resulting in the on-the-spot death of two occupants.

One more among the six injured succumbed while being shifted to a hospital by the rescuers.

The deceased were identified as Haqnawaz (22), his sister Shahriza Rahi (18) and their cousin brother Rafaqat Hussain (15).

Umar Gul (21), Shahzia Kousar (18), Sadam Hussain (22), Shahnawaz (18) and Adil Hussain (18) were admitted to Mahore hospital, and their condition is stated to be serious, the officials said. (PTI)
