Property of drug peddler attached in Kulgam
Kulgam: Police in south Kashmir’s Kulgam district have attached the property of a drug peddler under the NDPS Act.
Quoting officials, news agency Kashmir Scroll reported the property bearing survey no. 353/01 was attached under section 68-F (2) of NDPS Act 1985.
The property attached, police said, belongs to a “notorious” drug peddler Khurshid Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Ismail Bhat, resident of Sopat, Devsar.
The property was flagged as illegally acquired during the investigation conducted by police, he said.
“The property was prima facie acquired from the illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the owner,” said the police.
Police said that the accused is involved in case FIR no. 63/2019 U/S 8/20, 15 of NDPS Act; FIR no. 11/2021U/S 8/20,29 NDPS Act; FIR no. 31/2021 U/S 8/20,22 OF NDPS Act and is presently lodged at Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu.
