Exciting victories unfold in the 72nd All India Police Hockey Championship at Jammu

Jammu, February 02: The fervour and thrill of the 72nd All India Police Hockey Championship continued today as teams clashed on the fourth day of the championship at Jammu. Organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Police, the event is set to run from January 29 to February 8, 2024.

In an intense battle, Jammu and Kashmir Police emerged victorious against SSB with a scoreline of 3-1. Satwant Singh Jr. No. 13 netted the first goal, while Karanjit Singh Jr. No. 05 secured the second and third goals. Karanjit Singh was declared the Player of the Match for his outstanding performance. The Chief Guest for the match was Shri. Bhanu Pratap Singh, Member of the J&K Sports Council.

Match No. 14: Chandigarh Police vs. CISF

CISF dominated the match against Chandigarh Police with a commanding 6-0 victory. Vishal Jit Singh Jr. No. 09, Vishal Rana Jr. No. 11, Dheeraj Vats Jr. No. 99, Vasu Dev Jr. No. 07, Yog Raj Singh Jr. No. 03, and Nithin Jr. No. 17 were the scorers. Ankit Singh Jr. No. 05 was awarded the Player of the Match. Shri. Rajni Sharma, Dy Co. IRP-1st Bn, was the Chief Guest.

Match No. 15: Uttar Pradesh Police vs. Odisha Police

Uttar Pradesh Police secured a thrilling 7-4 victory against Odisha Police. Amit Yadav Jr. No. 25, Shakib Mewati Jr. No. 18, Suraj Singh Jr. No. 08, Gagan Rajbhar Jr. No. 10, and Anawarullah Shah Jr. No. 20 were the goal scorers. Anwar Shah Jr. No. 20 was named the Player of the Match. Shri. Rajinder Singh, Member Sports Council, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.

Match No. 16: Rajasthan Police vs. ITBP

ITBP emerged victorious against Rajasthan Police with a 4-1 scoreline. Shubham Jr. No. 34 scored the first goal, while Gurvinder Singh Jr. No. 02 secured the next three goals. Gurvinder Singh Jr. No. 02 was rightfully declared the Player of the Match.

Match No. 17: Himachal Pradesh Police vs. Punjab Police

Punjab Police dominated the field, securing a resounding 10-0 victory against Himachal Pradesh Police. Varinder Singh Jr. No. 22 was awarded the Player of the Match for his stellar performance. Shri. Zaffar Iqbal JKAS, CSO J&K Sports Council, honored the match as the Chief Guest.

Women’s Category Matches:

In the Women’s category, CRPF secured a 7-0 victory against Haryana Police, with Yashika Negi Jr. No. 37 named the Player of the Match. Meanwhile, Odisha Police triumphed over Gujarat Police with a 6-0 victory, and Priyanka Ekka Jr. No. 02 was declared the Player of the Match.

The excitement and competitive spirit in the championship are reaching new heights as teams continue to showcase their skill and determination. The championship promises more thrilling matches as it progresses towards the grand finale on February 8, 2024.
