Drug smuggler booked under PIT NDPS Act
Srinagar: Police have booked “most-wanted and notorious” drug smuggler under PIT NDPS Act in Baramulla, police spokesman informed Monday.
He said the “most-wanted and notorious drug smuggler” Dawood Ahmad Sofi, son of Ghulam Hassan Sofi of Solinda Khaipora Tangmarg, has been booked under PIT-NDPS Act after obtaining formal detention orders from the competent authority. The booked drug smuggler has been detained and subsequently lodged in Central Jail Kot-Bhalwal Jammu, the spokesman said, adding that many cases are registered against the accused and that he was involved in promoting drug abuse trade by supplying drugs to local youth of Tangmarg and other areas of district.
