DST approves i-TBI on proposal submitted by GDC Sopore

SRINAGAR: The Department of Science & Technology (DST), Govt. of India (GoI) has approved the Inclusive Technology Business Incubator (i-TBI) on the proposal submitted by the Department of Management Studies, Government Degree College Boys Sopore.

For setting up the Inclusive Technology Business Incubator in this college, a sanctioned grant of Rs. 3.90 Crores, Vide TPN No. 94686 Dated 30-10-2023 has been approved. The proposal is the first of its kind to be approved in favour of any Degree College in UT of J&K.

The i-TBI will provide ignition grant (grant in aid), a funding support to innovators/startups to convert their idea into prototypes/products that have potential for commercialization. The maximum funding support to an innovator/startup will be up to Rs 10 Lakhs.

It will provide a platform to budding entrepreneurs, innovators and start-ups for identification, development and commercialization of new products. The thrust area for the project has been identified as Information Technology, which has huge potential for innovation in J&K.
