3 drug peddlers held in Baramulla

Srinagar: Police have arrested three drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession, a police spokesperson informed Tuesday.

He said at a checkpoint at Nowlari Pattan police intercepted a vehicle (DL7CF-6091) with two persons — Waseem Ahmad Dar, son of Abdul Ahad, and Mudasir Ahmad Mir, son of Nazir Ahmad, both residents of Sher Colony Sopore — onboard. During the search, 7.1 kgs of poppy straw-like substance was recovered from their possession following which both persons were arrested and vehicle seized.

At Sultanpora Wussan, one Hilal Ahmad Hurrah, son of Mohammad Subhan Hurrah of Krankshivan Colony Sopore was arrested after 53 grams of cannabis-like substance was recovered from his possession.
