2 drug peddlers held in Baramulla

Srinagar: Police have arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession, police spokesman informed Tuesday.

He said at a checkpoint established at Palhallan Morh, police arrested one Mohammad Lateef Teli, son of Mohammad Yousuf of Wussan Pattan. During his search, 110 grams of ‘Charas’ (cannabis) was recovered from his possession, police said.

At Odina Mirgund, police arrested a drug peddler identified as Mohammad Jamal Ahanger, son of Ghulam Mohammad Ahanger of Yakhmanpora Pattan. During his search, 5.6 Kgs of poppy straw was recovered from his possession, police said.

Cases under relevant sections of law have been registered in both these cases.
