Dr Samoon reviews status of skilling of youth identified under B2V4, SANKALP progs

JAMMU: Principal Secretary, Skill Development Department (SDD), Dr Asgar Hassan Samoon today chaired a meeting to review the status of skilling of youth identified under B2V4, SANKALP and Women Self Help Groups (WSHGs) programs at Civil Secretariat here.

Mission Director, Skill Development Mission, Leena Padha; Mission Director, JKRLM, Indu Kanwal Chib; Director, Skill Development Department, Sudershan Kumar; Deputy Commissioners, representatives of different Banks, and senior officers of various departments attended the meeting both in person and through virtual mode.

During the meeting, detailed discussions and deliberations were held on various issues and officers briefed the chair about the present status of training imparted under B2V4, SANKALP, and WSHGs.

Addressing the officers in the meeting, Dr. Samoon directed them to impart the required training to candidates of each district identified under B2V4 programme. He stressed upon them that to enhance the quality and reach of Skill training by leveraging technology and industry partnerships.

The Principal Secretary also asked the officers to coordinate with educational institutions and PRIs so that maximum youth are brought under the skill training. He further stressed upon them to cover all the eligible candidates for skilling so that they can able to earn their livelihood.

During the meeting, it was also informed in the meeting that under PMKVY 4.0, 20435 candidates have been enrolled out of which 13905 candidates are undergoing training and 426 have been trained till date.
