Day 06: 71st B.N. Mullik Memorial All India Police Football

Srinagar: The 6th day of the ongoing 71st B.N. Mullik Memorial All India Police Football Championship 2023 were played in great enthusiasm and high sprit.

11 matches including 08 pre-quarter-final matches among the men & 03 women league matches were played at three different venues which include Bakshi Stadium, Synthetic Turf Polo Ground and Kashmir University Ground.

The matches saw exciting clashes, hard-fought battles were seen among teams for securing a spot in the next round of the championship.

At Synthetic Turf Ground, 04 matches of Pre-Quarter finals of men were played with great sprit and anticipation. The event hosts J&K Police team was knocked out by CISF in a one-sided match and lost the game to CISF by 4-0 goals. Match played between Assam Rifles Vs Sikkim Police was won by Assam Rifles by 4-0 goals and advanced to the QF. Another match was played between Punjab Police Vs RPF which was won by Punjab Police by 4-0 and qualified for the QF. Match played between Mizoram Police Vs Assam Police was won by Mizoram Police in a thrilling game by 2-0 goals.

At Kashmir University, 03 matches of Pre-quarter finals of men were played. CRPF won the knock-out game against Tamil Nadu Police by 3-0 goals and qualified for the QF. In a thrilling game, Kerala Police knocked out the Maharashtra through Penalty Shootout and won the game by 4-2 and entered for the Quarter Finals. Moreover, in another pre-quarter final match played between BSF Vs Jharkhand Police which was won by Jharkhand Police in a one-sided game by 3-0 goals and advanced for the QF.

Moreover, at Bakshi Stadium, pre-quarter final match of men’s was played between West Bengal Police Vs Rajasthan Police which was won by Rajasthan Police in a tie breaker by 5-4 goals and qualified for the Quarter Final.

At Bakshi Stadium, 3 league matches of women teams for the advancement to the pre-quarter finals were played. In a first match played between SSB Vs Manipur Police which was won by SSB Women in a one-sided game by 3-0. In another match played between CRPF Women Vs Jharkhand Police Women which was won by CRPF Women by 7-0 goals and qualified for the pre-quarter finals. Match played between event hosts J&K Police women Vs Odisha Women in which J&K Police women team failed to defend their team and lost the game to Odisha Police women by 16-0 goals and knocked out from the championship.

Dignitaries and other officers were present at the venues as Chief Guests.
