Government Degree College Frisal Kulgam enters Finals

Srinagar: In the ongoing 14th edition of Prof. Yousuf Memorial Cricket tournament at Islamia College playfield, the First Semi-Final match played between Government Degree College Frisal Kulgam and Institute of Technology Zakura, Srinagar.

The match was inaugurated by Prof. Zahoor Ahmad Jhat Head Department of Electronics Islamia College, before start of the match both the teams has been introduced and appreciated for their hard-work who reach the semi-finals stage of the tournament.

The toss was won by Government Degree College Frisal Kulgam and elected to field, Institute of Technology Zakura Srinagar, made 165 Runs in allotted 20 overs. For Institute of Technology Zakura, Srinagar Sareer and Bilal scored 58 and 39 runs in 46 and 28 deliveries. For Government Degree College Frisal Kulgam, Manzoor and Faisel took 01 Wicket each.

In Reply, chasing the target of 166 runs to win, Government Degree College Frisal Kulgam chased down the target runs in 19 overs with the loss of 08 wickets.

For Government Degree College Frisaal Kulgam, Danish in reply scored 37 runs in 20 deliveries and Faisel Manzoor 36 Runs in 18 deliveries. For Institute of Technology Zakura, Srinagar Bariz Bashir took 04 and Sahil 01 wickets respectively.

The MAN of the MATCH was adjudged to FAISEL MANZOOR of Government Degree College Frisal Kulgam for his all-round performance. As such Government Degree College Frisal Kulgam, won the match by 02 Wickets in a close contest.

The Second Semi-final match of this tournament will be played on 19th of March 2023 (i.e:- Monday) between the Government Degree College Anantnag and Post Graduates of Kashmir University.

The Tournament is being Organised by the Department of Physical Education, Islamia College of Science and Commerce Srinagar, in the memory of Legendary Ex-Principal Prof Mohammad Yousuf of the college.
