FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Srinagar: Member Parliament Anantnag, Hasnain Masoodi, today called on the Lieutenant Governor of Jammu at Jammu. Masoodi raised various issues that required the attention of LG and called for his intervention.

Masoodi emphasising constitutional obligations of a welfare state demanded revocation of the circular dated 09.01.2023 whereby revenue officials have been asked to remove all encroachments on State, Roshni and Kahcharai land as the constitutional and possessory rights of the affected were likely to be infringed by the proposed action. He pointed out that the construction on state land was not a phenomenon restricted to Jammu and Kashmir and such encroachment in national and commercial areas were regularised.

He while reiterating his long pending demand for regularisation of all daily rated, casual, need-based, development fund workers, CIC operators, and other workers demanded the application of all minimum wages Order to such employees/workers irrespective of nomenclature used at the time of their engagement.

He, while acknowledging the increasing public confidence in Government Hospitals at all levels and the commitment of the doctors and paramedical staff, asked for adequate steps to bridge the gap in manpower. He pointed out that anywhere between 1500-2000 patients visited the outdoor department of district hospitals making it difficult for the doctors to handle the patient. He requested immediate measures to set up a Maternity Hospital at Anantnag and sanction medical and paramedical staff for SDH Shangus and Tral. Masoodi also demanded the upgradation of PHC Khrew as CHC.

Steps were requested to be taken to make the South Campus of KU a seat of academic excellence by increasing the faculty strength and the number of disciplines and transfer of High ground to the Campus. He demanded a degree college for Khrew and expedited the process for a degree college in Aishmuqam.

The MP emphasised the importance of Pastun (Sahibabad) – Wahab Saheb and Lehndajan – Batnoor road segments for a boost in tourism as the two road segments would shorten the distance between Srinagar and Pahalgam and open up upper areas of Tral that have so far lagged behind in pace of development and requested for commencement of work on two road segments. He also demanded the construction of Choidraman – Bradtal Dardardapora tunnel to connect Wadwan- Marwah subdivision with Anantnag.
