DC Baramulla, CEO ERA facilitate participants of 2nd ski course at IISM Gulmarg

Deputy Commissioner Baramulla on Monday attended the graduation ceremony of ski courses at IISM Gulmarg. She was accompanied by Mission Director JJM J&K, Syed Abid Rasheed Shah.

Srinagar: Deputy Comissioner (DC) Baramulla, Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar, on Monday visited Gulmarg to facilitate the participants of the 2nd ski course at the Indian Institute of Skiing & Mountaineering (IISM) Gulmarg.

80 students from all over the country, including 35 girls, successfully completed the course.

Dr Sehrish attended the event as a chief guest, while Dr. Syed Abid Rashid Shah, CEO ERA/Mission Director Jal Jeevan Mission, was also invited as a special guest to encourage the students.

Col J S Dhillon welcomed the guests and briefed them about the institute and various activities being undertaken by it.

Dr Syed Sehrish Asgar gave away prizes to the winners of different events of the course and complimented the students for the successful completion of the course. She appreciated the efforts of Col Dhillon and his staff to maintain a very high standard of training and administration at IISM. “The Institute is the best platform to develop bonding among the nation’s youth,” she said.

Dr Syed Abid Rashid Shah said that the course not only promotes adventure tourism but also helps to develop the overall personality of the youth through their exposure to challenging weather conditions in extremely cold temperatures.
