Former AIR Srinagar announcer Altaf Bukhari passes away

Srinagar: Former senior announcer of All India Radio (AIR) Srinagar – then Radio Kashmir Srinagar – Syed Altaf Bukhari passed away on Tuesday at the age of 76.

Altaf Bukhari was the father of the well-known journalist late Shahid Bukhari.

‘Nimaz-i-Jinazah’ (funeral prayers) of the deceased was offered around noon today at his ancestral graveyard in the Qazipora area of Tangmarg. In addition to hundreds of people, People’s Conference senior leader Syed Basharat Bukhari, editor of Shehrbeen, Maqsood attended the funeral prayers of Bukhari.

Meanwhile, various sections of society expressed condolences to the bereaved family. Apni Party Vice President, Ghulam Hasan Mir, NC’s Farooq Ahmed Shah and Sheikh Mustafa Kamal, Shabbir Ahmed Mir of PDP, and Muhammad Abbas Wani of People’s Conference expressed grief over the demise of Syed Altaf Bukhari and prayed for his highest status in the paradise.

Kashmir Images family condoles the sad demise and prays for ‘Jannah’ to the departed soul.
