DIET Sopore organizes District Level Exhibition & Project Competition-2021-22 for Bla, B’pora districts

Sopore: Continuing its efforts to cultivate a culture of creative and innovative thinking among students, District Institute of Educational Trainings (DIET) Sopore in collaboration with National Foundation India organized a District Level Exhibition and Project Competition (DLEPC 2021-22).

The initiative has been launched under Innovation in Science Pursuits for Research for Inspired Research Awards (INSPIRE Awards) – MANAK Million Minds Augmenting National Aspiration and Knowledge scheme in which 104 students of Baramulla and 47 of Bandipora district participated on Monday.

The District Level Exhibition and Project Competition (DLEPC) were inaugurated by Additional District Development Commissioner Sopore Parvaiz Sajad Ganaie who was flanked by In Charge Principal DIET Sopore Nuzhat Bano and District Nodal Officer Inspire Awards District Baramulla Dr. Pervez Maqbool Lone and experts from NIF Senior Project Associate Parvaiz Ahmad Mir and Mir Sameer Fayaz.

After inaugurating the DLEPC, ADC Sopore Parvaiz Sajad Ganai hailed the efforts of DIET Sopore and DNO Dr. Pervez Maqbool for mobilizing the students of Bandipora and Baramulla and providing them a platform to exhibit their talent.

“Children should get a wide exposure as far as scientific temperament is concerned. The aim of the INSPIRE award MANAK is to foster a culture of creative and innovative ideas among students to address the problems of society through Science and Technology. We have to create scientific temperament among students by getting new and creative ideas from them,” he added.

Speaking on the occasion in-charge Inspire Award MANAK DIET Sopore Dr. Pervez Maqbool Lone said, “ INSPIRE Awards-MANAK is one of the flagship programs conceptualized and executed by NIF and Ministry of Science and Technology Government of India to attract talent and expose to science at an early age of 10-15 years.”

“Students invited from all government and private schools of the country to send their original and creative ideas and innovations that will solve any daily problem faced by society. These are ideas selected among 10 lakh ideas submitted by students across India. We have experts from NIF to evaluate them. Out of 104 projects of Baramulla district, 12 have been selected for state level and from 74 projects of Bandipora district 6 got selected for state level exhibition,” he informed.

In Charge Principal DIET Sopore Nuzhat Bano expressed gratitude to all guests, teachers, DIET faculty and felicitated the students for making the exhibition successful.

She further said that Dr. Pervez Maqbool has been instrumental in guiding students and teachers of District Baramulla to submit their innovative projects online Under his leadership and guidance District Baramulla has been shining at State and National Level Competitions under the INSPIRE Awards MANAK Scheme. Dozens of students from District Baramulla have already participated in National Level Competitions and three students selected for the SAKURA High School Program of Japan.

The project models were evaluated by a jury that included experts of NIF Senior Project Associate Parvaiz Ahmad Mir and Mir Sameer Fayaz, former Principal Mohammad Yousuf Bhat, Senior Lectures Abdul Latief Shah, Abdul Rashid Bhat, Tariq Ahmad.

A large number of students, parents, DIET faculty including HODs and Lecturers, and teachers from various schools of the district participated.
