Srinagar: Police in Handwara solved a theft case by arresting three accused persons involved in it and recovered stolen goods from their possession, a police spokesman said.
He said yesterday a case (FIR No. 295/2022) was registered at Police Station Handwara regarding theft of electronic gadgets and other essential tools from Forest Range Office Handwara.
During investigations, police zeroed in on three persons and arrested them, spokesman said, while identifying the arrested persons as Amjid Sheik,h son of Abdul Majeed; Irshad Ahmad Sheikh, son of Sana-ul-lah Sheikh, both residents of Sheikh Colony Bagatpora Handwara; and Hilal Ahmad Dar, son of Ghulam Mohd, resident of Sher Colony Sopore.
On their disclosure, police recovered stolen items including LCD TV, grass cutter, gas cylinder, inverter battery, printer, photostat machine, etc., from their possession.
Further investigation into the matter is going on to ascertain involvement of the accused persons in other similar cases, police said.
