Director JKEDI reviews preparedness of district Gbl for B2V4 prog

SRINAGAR: The Director Jammu and Kashmir Entrepreneurship Development Institute (JKEDI), Ajaz Ahmad Bhat, today visited district Ganderbal and took a detailed review of activities to be undertaken under Jan Abhiyan and ‘Back to Village’ programme phase-IV (B2V4).

The Director reviewed the set targets for Jan Abhiyan and B2V4 for the institute and stressed an all-inclusive and vigorous approach towards involving all sections of society. He directed the officers to organize public outreach programs at the grassroots level involving panchayats and various social groups in the villages with a proper synergy between all the concerned line departments.

Bhat also inaugurated a 10-Day Entrepreneurship Development Programme (EDP) conducted by JKEDI District Centre, Ganderbal. The programme is conducted under the Tejaswini livelihood scheme at Boys Hr. Secondary School, Ganderbal. This scheme is a special endeavour of Mission Youth, Government of Jammu and Kashmir.

During the programme, Dr. Meiraj-Ud-Din Bhat, Faculty and Incharge training, JKEDI gave an overview of employment scenarios and the need for capacity building. Vishal Ray, Faculty/Incharge Startup Policy talked about the startup scenario of the Union Territory.

In his address, Director JKEDI stressed the need to choose an appropriate business venture which is high in demand around the area like Dairy, Sheep farming, Fashion Technology and related services. Utilization of local raw materials can enhance the viability of the venture.

He further said that one must become a smart marketeer and use social media and digital platforms for the promotion of business. He added that there is a need to incorporate entrepreneurship as a subject right from the school level. He also pointed out that Youth empowerment is the focus of the current government under the leadership of Manoj Sinha, Lt. Governor of J&K.

Ghulam Hassan Sheikh, Vice Principal of Boys Hr. Secondary School, Arif Ahmad Khan, Communication Officer JKEDI and Rafiya, Career Counselling Officer were also present on the occasion.

The EDP is coordinated by Abdul Rouf Khan, Assistant Faculty and Syed Nazneen Assistant Faculty is the Trainer for the program.
