SRINAGAR: Following the directions of Commissioner FDA J&K, Shakeel Ur Rehman, an inspection was conducted in Karanagar area of Srinagar by a team of Drug Control Officers of District Deputy Drugs Controller Kashmir Nighat Jabeen.

During the special raid, Jan Aushadi Drug store located at Karanagar was found indulging in unethical practices and illegal trade of drugs prone to addiction.

The operation of the Drug store has been suspended on the spot and excessive quantities of intoxicating drugs were seized for initiation of legal action in the competent court of law.

Dy Drugs Controller Kashmir has given clear instructions and a message to the pharma fraternity that whosoever will be found indulging in the procurement, sale, or dispensing by unethical means action the law which may invite cancellation of licenses and registration shall be initiated.

The public in general and patients, in particular, are requested to procure proper invoices for the medicines purchased from the chemist shops and launch grievances on the toll-free number of the department incase of refusal of invoices by the chemists.
