2 minor boys reunited with their families: Police

Srinagar: Two minor boys who police said were planning to travel to Punjab were handed over to their families, police said in a statement Tuesday

It said yesterday evening, police intercepted two minor boys roaming near Bus Stand Budgam when they were trying to hire a vehicle for TRC Srinagar. The boys were identified as Adil Farooq Cheechi and Waseem Ahmad, both residents of Gundi Kamal Kralgund Handwara.

When officers spoke to them, it surfaced that both the minors had run away from their homes and arrived at Budgam Railway Station by train from Baramulla and wanted to proceed towards Punjab.

Accordingly, police kept both the minors at a Children’s Home Budgam for the night and subsequently informed Police Station Kralgund Handwara, who intimated their parents.

After fulfilling legal formalities, the minor duo was handed over to their parents, police said.
