DC Gbl inaugurates T-20 Cricket League at Qamaria Ground

GANDERBAL: The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Shyambir in presence of former cricketer AbidNabi today inaugurated the T-20 Ganderbal Cup Cricket league organized by the district administration in collaboration with NGO Voice for Peace and Justice and J&K Sports Council.

On the occasion, the DC interacted with players and urged them to vigorously participate in sports and athletic activities apart from pursuing their academics for their physical and mental health.

Around 32 teams of the district shall participate in a month-long tournament in which 31 matches shall be played among different teams.

The inaugural match was played today between Ganderbal Gym Khana and HamdaniaSaloora at Qamaria Ground.

DC appreciated the organizers for organizing such tournaments in the district which shall promote sports spirit, and identify and nurture the talent for higher levels.

He also complimented the former cricketer AbidNabi for his support in providing training to the players of the district and assured him of all possible support for nurturing the talent of youth.

Among others, Chairman Voice for Peace and Justice, Farooq Ganderbali, and locals were present on the occasion.
