2 LeT militants killed in encounter with security forces near Srinagar

Budgam: An encounter broke out between militants and security forces at Waterhal area of central Kashmir’s Budgam district on Wednesday morning, officials said.

An official told news agency-Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that a joint team of RR, Police and CRPF launched a cordon and search operation on specific information about the presence of militants in the area.

He said that as the joint team of forces approached the suspected spot, militants fired upon them which was retaliated triggering an encounter.

Meanwhile ADGP Kashmir Vijay Kumar said that three LeT militants including Lateef Rather who was involved in killing of Rahul Pandit and Amreen Bhat are trapped in ongoing encounter.
