A lot of work has been done by District Administration and Municipal Council Anantnag especially construction of Parking facility at Janglatmandi Anantnag and lifting of litter, garbage directly from doorsteps. Other facilities that have come up include under-construction Sumo Adda at Janglatmani near GMC Hospital Anantnag, metal topping of lanes and Bylanes, Construction of drains etc. Yet a lot more is needed to beauty the largest town of the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.

It is pertinent to mention here that the congested look the town has is also due to the occupatio0n of th footpaths in front of Shops- these need to be cleared for smooth movement of pedestrians and people at large, as when footpaths remain occupied by various goods of Shopkeepers, people are forced to walk on main roads which is always associated with traffic jams, accidents and risk of loss of precious lives. The roadside stalls established by many for earning their livelihood have come up along many roads of the town and need to be relocated honorably to such places where they can earn their livelihood without causing mess or affecting the normal lives of others. The process may begin by their registration with municipal council Anantnag at the first instance and then relocation to areas like alongside Bus, Sumo or Taxi stands in limited and controlled numbers. They may also be relocated along the road from the gate of Janglatmandi Hospital to new Sumo stand being developed near Ahli-Hadees Eidgah.

Relocation along outer ring road of Anantnag Sports Stadium and along Ashajipora- Mehandi kadal road is also a good option if there is real administrative will. It is also highly required that Zebra Crossings be made on various roads across the town for safe road crossing of pedestrians especially school children preferably at Ashajipora, Janglatmandi, Ganjiwara, Lal chowk, near DC office, Mehandi kadal, Khanabal Crossing and at many places from Khanabal to Sarnal and nearby various Schools. Good looking Multi-Story parking facility at Janglatmandi is not properly used as a lot of private vehicles are seen parked across the town which needs to be dealt with firmly. Furthermore the parking rates must be kept minimum preferably not more than 10 to 20 rupees as preference must be given to town beautification rather than revenue generation.

Work on the Donipawa-Ashajipora Bypass road may be initiated on fast track basis to bifurcate the traffic coming from Achabal side at Donipawa which will definitely ease out the traffic from Janglatmandi to Mehandi Kadal.

Double lanning of Road from MMABM Hospital Janglatmandi to GMC college campus at Dialgam should be done urgently for smooth movement of patients, medical staff and MBBS students.

The tpwn also deserves a Joggers park that may be developed from Donipawa to Ashajipora to Mehandi kadal area along the Arpath river bank. This will beautify the town as well as encourage people to go for Jogging and other necessary exercises to keep them healthy.
