Tarigami expresses concern over plight of striking Technical Assistants engaged under MGNREGA
Srinagar: CPI(M) leader Mohamad Yousuf Tarigami on Tuesday expressed concern over the plight of striking Technical Assistants engaged under MGNREGA of the Rural Development Department in Jammu & Kashmir.
He, in a statement issued here, said that the strike has been causing a halt in the developmental activities in the region.
“These youth have been selected on a merit basis through a proper recruitment process and are performing their duties to the satisfaction of the department. These Technical Assistants have certain long-pending demands that include their regularizations and enhancement of their wages,” said Tarigami.
“The CPI(M) leader has taken up the matter with concerned authorities for early redressal,” he said.
