Uri: Two day after teenager was mauled to death by a wild animal in Kalsan Choola in Uri, body of another missing boy apparently killed by wild animals was recovered from Trikanjan forest area of Uri in Baramulla district.

An official said that body of a 12-year-old boy identified as Shahid Ahmad son of Abdul Jabbar of Trikanjan was recovered from forest area after he went missing as he had gone to bring back the cattle in the nearby forest area on Sunday morning.

He said that when the boy did not return home till late evening, a search operation was launched in the nearby forest area, following which his body was recovered and is suspected to be killed by a wild animal. “This is the second such case in the last 24 hours in Uri area”, he said.

A police official said that body parts of the boy were found at two places within a particular area, and said that the boy seems to have been killed by some wild animal.

Army also helped locals and police to trace the missing body. Sniffer dogs were pressed to find out the boy.

Notably, the incident comes two days after a child was mauled to death in a suspected wild animal attack at Cholan Kalsi Ghati area in the frontier town late Saturday evening.
